Seeing Chancellor Hyman’s grandmother’s Malcolm X College I. D. is quite a boost. She gave a great speech. We ought to celebrate this increase in graduates and work hard to see a similar increase or better next year. Terrific news!

Interesting that she didnt mention that she created 515 new positions at the District Office instead of using that money to hire even more advisors or more teachers. More faculty = smaller class sizes which improves student outcomes. She also didnt discuss the consultants that are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to do things like read job applications for executive positions.

I am an adult student at Daley College and this speech really gave me a boost to keep on going . I will be finishing my first year at Daley this semester. I am also a GED graduate from the GED program at Daley. I still have one more year to go, and hearing the chancellors history gives me the courage to keep on going. Thank you chancellor for your hard work.
